The fabled Panax ginseng root is hardly immune from the forces of economically motivated adulteration, as discussed in this recent review study by American Botanical Council (https://lnkd.in/gsTaw3YA), which heavily cited the earlier work by Network Nutrition on Panax ginseng adulteration detection (see reference 3 in ABC’s recent paper).
Pharmacopoeia monographs are yet to catch up with modern adulteration methods, such as the now commonplace use of Panax ginseng aerial parts. It’s still Panax ginseng, this much is true; but chemistry and efficacy are all out of whack! Duped buyers are denied the long-term cultivation practices required to deliver genuine Panax ginseng root.
The Network Nutrition Program for Adulteration Detection (NPAD) and the Network Nutrition Authenticity Guarantee utilise a specific chemistry ‘key’ which is reported to purchasers for every batch of Panax ginseng we produce, providing maximum assurance that our products are the genuine article, coupled with independent analytical reports for absolute and final verification.
