Catching up with a dear old friend

Had the good fortune of catching up with a dear old friend on this visit to Jakarta. My Dear Sekar Arumugam who I’ve known for a good chunk of my life and with whom we’ve worked on various algal technologies together. Sekar lives in Jakarta now and half way through my flight to Jakarta I get a text message from him asking when I might next be visiting Jakarta. The universe works in mysterious ways! The before (2011) and now photos put me to shame (who was that guy!!!??). I think back then I was all about the hustle and bustle. Sekar though hasn’t aged a day and is still his same vibrant self.
